Fceux SVN r2242 is released. FCEUX is a cross platform, NTSC and PAL Famicom/NES emulator that is an evolution of the original FCE Ultra emulator. Over time FCE Ultra had separated into many separate branches. The concept behind FCEUX is to merge elements from FCE Ultra, FCEU rerecording, FCEUXD, FCEUXDSP, and FCEU-mm into a single branch of FCEU. As the X implies, it is an all-encompassing FCEU emulator that gives the best of all worlds for the general player, the ROM-hacking community, and the Tool-Assisted Speedrun Community.
NESICIDE V1.003 is released. NESICIDE is an Integrated Development Environment for the 8-bit Nintendo Entertainment System (NES). NESICIDE is a NES development application written with MFC and works only on Windows. The goal of NESICIDE2 is to bring this application into the modern age; it will support all 3 major platforms, as well as feature an easier to use interface. It will also have a community element that will allow users to share code, multimedia, and even entire projects/games. This is a new project and much is left to be done.
SSNES v0.8.2 is released. SSNES is a simple frontend for the libsnes library. libsnes is the emulator core of bSNES, the most accurate SNES emulator to date, in library form. The libsnes API has been implemented by SNES9x as well, allowing multiple different cores to be used for an emulator that supports libsnes. This enables the possibility of custom front-ends for the emulator.
Atomulator v1.0 is released. Atomulator is a free, open source Acorn Atom emulator for Windows and Linux.
M1.XML 20110921 is released. M1.XML file for use with M1 - keeping up with changes in MAME. M1 plays the music from arcade games by running the code in the original ROMs (not supplied). This allows entirely authentic playback of classic video game tunes while you work.
Mameinfo.dat v0.143u6 is released. detailed mame game information (including version added, number of players, game status, cpu/audio chips, display info and maws hall of fame ratings). Provides Recommended Games for GameEx.
HalfNES v0.039 is released. HalfNES is an open-source emulator for the Nintendo Entertainment System, written in Java. Currently, it only runs as a standalone Java SE application.
MakaronEX v4.0 NewGen is released. MakaronEX is a a special buid of the original emulator Makaron (Sega Dreamcast and NAOMI videogame systems emulator). MakaronEX has a comfortable and intuitive interface, supports some additional features that were not available to the original version of the emulator.
Jpcsp SVN r2324 is released. JPCSP is the most advanced PlayStation Portable(PSP) emulator, allowing you to play your PSP games on a PC. Even though Jpcsp is written in Java, it can already reach 100% PSP speed on a lot of commercial games... and the emulator performance is constantly increasing. Jpcsp takes full advantage of dual-core processors, matching the PSP dual-core architecture. Even a quad-core can give a small performance improvement by leaving free CPU cores for the Java JIT Compiler and the graphics cache.
ASAP v3.1.0 is released. ASAP is a player of 8-bit Atari music for modern computers. It emulates the POKEY sound chip and the 6502 processor. The project was initially based on the routines from the Atari800 emulator, but the current version has a completely new original emulation core.
GSdx-ShadeBoost v5 (r4915) is released. This is a hacked Video Plugin for PCSX2. It based on PCSX2 SVN r4915 for GSdx.
GameEx v12.14 is released. GameEx is a graphical DirectX based front-end for MAME, Zinc, Daphne, PC Games, and all command line based game emulators, along with being a good Home Theatre PC solution. It also makes a good CarPC and touchscreen frontend. The original goal was for it to be used on Windows XP Media Center and Arcade Cabinets although it will run on any version of Windows 98, ME, 2000, XP and Vista. GameEx is only 15$ to register with one year of free updates. $24 for 2 years of free updates, $33 for 3 years of free updates and $39 for free updates forever.
PceEmu v1.4.0 is released. PceEmu is a PC Engine/TurboGrafx-16 (TG16) emulator, designed for the Droid/Milestone, but should work on devices with similar or better specs. Copy your games anywhere to your SD card and browse to them from within the app. It defaults to the root directory of your card upon first run.
Glitch64 SVN r254 is released. GlideHQ is a realtime texture enhancer library with hi-resolution texture pack support for Glide64. Glitch64 is the recommended Glide3x wrapper for Glide64, the Glide video plugin for N64 emulators. It currently supports S3TC texture compression, anisotropic filtering, widescreen resolutions and simulates almost all the Glide3x hardware capabilities used by the plugin, included texture buffer capability (needed for render to texture). It is coded using the OpenGL API and uses GLSL shaders.
edgbla's Software Rendering Plugin 1.41 is released. This is a Russian GPU plugin for Sony PlayStation emulators.
