EmuCR: sz81sz81 v2.1.6.1 is released. sz81 is a Sinclair ZX80/ZX81 emulator very much based upon the work of Ian Collier's xz80 and Russell Marks's z81 but employing the highly portable SDL and including additional functionality and features for desktop computers and portable devices.

nullDC 1.0.4 r3 beta

EmuCR: nullDCnullDC 1.0.4 r3 beta is released. nullDC is a freeware Sega Dreamcast(DC) and NAOMI videogame systems emulator for Microsoft Windows. nullDC runs several Dreamcast games at good speed, with full sound and music. NullDC requires the latest version of Microsoft DirectX, the latest Visual C++ runtime libraries and optionally WinPcap for modem emulation. As usual for emulators, a dump of the original console BIOS is also needed. It has a plugin architecture, with several alternative implementations (some ported from Chankast) for graphics, sound, reading games burned to CD-ROMs (it cannot read GD-ROMs directly) or disk image files, memory cards, etc.

VisualBoyAdvance2 SVN r309

VisualBoyAdvance2 SVN r309 is released. VisualBoyAdvance2 is a free, open source (GPLv3) GBA emulator. It runs on Windows, Linux and Mac, because the front-end is completely written with Qt 4. The code is based on VBA-M, but auther already rewrote many parts of the code. gbxemu was originally a minimal version of VisualBoyAdvance with only the GBA core and the SDL interface. It was more like an experiment.

DOSBox emulates an Intel x86 PC, complete with sound, graphics, mouse, joystick, modem, etc., necessary for running many old MS-DOS games that simply cannot be run on modern PCs and operating systems, such as Microsoft Windows XP, Windows Vista, Linux and FreeBSD. However, it is not restricted to running only games. In theory, any MS-DOS or PC-DOS (referred to commonly as "DOS") application should run in DOSBox, but the emphasis has been on getting DOS games to run smoothly, which means that communication, networking and printer support are still in early development.

Over time FCE Ultra had separated into many separate branches.The concept behind FCEUX is to merge elements from FCE Ultra, FCEU rerecording, FCEUXD, FCEUXDSP, and FCEU-mm into a single branch of FCEU. As the X implies, it is an all-encompassing FCEU emulator that gives the best of all worlds for the general player, the ROM-hacking community, and the Tool-Assisted Speedrun Community.
