DeSmuME supports save states, the ability to increase the size of the screen and it supports filters to improve image quality. DeSmuME also supports microphone use on Windows and Linux ports, as well as direct video and audio recording. The emulator also features a built-in movie recorder.

EmuCenter2 v2.6 is released. EmuCenter2 is a simplistic interface that combines the best emulators of console video games for greater simplicity.

MAME SVN r17325

MAME SVN r17325 is compiled. MAME stands for Multiple Arcade Machine Emulator. When used in conjunction with images of the original arcade game's ROM and disk data, MAME attempts to reproduce that game as faithfully as possible on a more modern general-purpose computer. MAME can currently emulate several thousand different classic arcade video games from the late 1970s through the modern era.

Wine v1.5.11 Final is released. Wine is a project to allow a PC running a Unix-like operating system and the X Window System to run x86 programs for Microsoft Windows. Alternately, those wishing to port a Windows application to a Unix-like system can compile it against the Wine libraries.

RetroCopy v1.00 Beta 4

RetroCopy v1.00 Beta 4 is released. RetroCopy is an accurate emulator with custom 3D interface for the Sega Genesis (Megadrive), Sega Master System (SMS), Nintendo (NES), Sega GameGear and arcade systems. It allows you to play the classic games for those systems on your PC. It is currently only available for Windows, with 32bit and 64bit versions available. RetroCopy is a new Master System emulator for Windows.

MESS SVN r15942 is compiled. MESS(Multi Emulator Super System) is an open source emulator which emulates a large variety of different systems. MESS is a source-available project which documents the hardware for a wide variety of (mostly vintage) computers, video game consoles, and calculators through software emulation, as MAME does for arcade games. As a nice side effect to this documentation, MESS allows software and games for these hardware platforms to be run on modern PCs.
