EmuCR: PCSX2PCSX2 Git (2015/08/10) is compiled. PCSX2 is an open source PlayStation 2 (PS2) emulator for the Microsoft Windows and Linux operating systems. With the most recent versions, many PS2 games are playable (although speed limitations have made play-to-completion tests for many games impractical), and several games are claimed to have full functionality.

MAME Git (2015/08/10)

MAMEMAME Git (2015/08/10) is compiled. MAME stands for Multiple Arcade Machine Emulator. When used in conjunction with images of the original arcade game's ROM and disk data, MAME attempts to reproduce that game as faithfully as possible on a more modern general-purpose computer. MAME can currently emulate several thousand different classic arcade video games from the late 1970s through the modern era.

MESS Git (2015/08/10)

EmuCR: MESSMESS Git (2015/08/10) is compiled. MESS(Multi Emulator Super System) is an open source emulator which emulates a large variety of different systems. MESS is a source-available project which documents the hardware for a wide variety of (mostly vintage) computers, video game consoles, and calculators through software emulation, as MAME does for arcade games. As a nice side effect to this documentation, MESS allows software and games for these hardware platforms to be run on modern PCs.

Xenia Git (2015/08/10)

EmuCR: XeniaXenia Git (2015/08/10) is compiled. Xenia is an experimental emulator for the Xbox 360. It does not run games (yet).

Project64 Git (2015/08/10)

EmuCR: Project 64Project64 Git (2015/08/10) is compiled. Project 64 is a proprietary Nintendo 64 emulator for Windows. It employs a plug-in system that allows third-party software developers to create their own implementation of a specified component. Project64 allows the user to play Nintendo 64 games on a computer by reading ROM images, either dumped from the read-only memory of a Nintendo 64 cartridge or created directly on the computer as homebrew. Project64 started as an exercise by Jabo and zilmar in an attempt to see if they were capable of programming a Nintendo 64 emulator. It's open source now.

Play! Git (2015/08/10)

EmuCR: Play!Play! Git (2015/08/10) is complied. Play! is an attempt at creating an emulator for the PlayStation 2 (PS2) console on the Windows platform. It is currently written in C/C++. It uses an instruction caching/recompilation scheme to achieve better performance while emulating the CPU.

AdvanceMAME v1.4

EmuCR: AdvanceMAME AdvanceMAME v1.4 is released. AdvanceMAME is an unofficial MAME version with advanced video support for use with TVs, Arcade Monitors, Fixed Frequencies Monitors, and also for PC Monitors.

fs-uae v2.6.0 Beta 2

EmuCR: fs-uaefs-uae v2.6.0 Beta 2 is released. fs-uae is a multi-platform Amiga emulator based on UAE/WinUAE, with a focus on emulating floppy-disk and CD-ROM based games. An important feature of the emulator is that it is fully controllable with a gamepad from your couch, with an on-screen GUI, which means that you can easily swap floppies and load save states with your gamepad. fs-uae is well suited to be started from an emulator frontend running on a HTPC, for instance.

Big Blue (2015/08/06)

Big Blue (2015/08/06) is released. Big Blue is a frontend for any command line program (MAME or any game) that works on any setup. You can use it with an arcade cabinet with a 15khz arcade monitor or a desktop computer with a 3840x2160 monitor.

HyperSpin v1.4 Beta 015

EmuCR:HyperSpinHyperSpin v1.3 is released. HyperSpin is an animated arcade frontend for Windows for use on Home Arcade Machines. HyperSpin allows you to create custom menu systems to run most executables with that arcade look and feel. HyperSpin takes a more artwork oriented approach to creating menu’s. With this tool you should be able to make interesting menu’s for your games, movies etc..

VirtualC64 v0.9.9.6

EmuCR:VirtualC64VirtualC64 v0.9.9.6 is released. VirtualC64 is a C64 emulator for Mac OS X from Dirk W. Hoffmann. VirtualC64 emulates a Commodore 64 personal computer on your Macintosh.

mGBA Git (2015/08/10)

EmuCR: mGBAmGBA Git (2015/08/10) is compiled. mGBA is a new emulator for running Game Boy Advance games. It aims to be faster and more accurate than many existing Game Boy Advance emulators, as well as adding features that other emulators lack.

Going for a drive… with a printer?

Guru dumped Namco’s System 12 Techno Drive recently. I got it to boot in MAME and go into the service menu, but it won’t play because it’s missing an odd arcade peripheral: a printer. (The board set that we dumped from is also missing the printer).

Raine v0.64.6

RaineRaine v0.64.6 is released. RAINE is an Emulator for Arcade games. Raine is a M68000 and M68020 arcade game emulator. Raine emulates some M68000 and M68020 arcade games and is mainly focused on Taito and Jaleco games hardware. It started as an experiment with the Rainbow Islands romset, dumped by Aracorn/Romlist. Raine can emulate many nice games now, and new games (previously unemulated) are appearing weekly.
