Nestopia Git (2013/02/05) is compiled. Nestopia has been abandoned for years. It's a great emulator, and losing it would be a shame. The purpose of this project is to keep Nestopia alive as long as possible and make sure it continues to work on modern Linux distributions. In the future, Windows builds may be maintained as well. Enhancements will be made in an attempt to make this the best, most user-friendly, standalone NES emulator on the Linux platform.

As a nice side effect to this documentation, MESS allows software and games for these hardware platforms to be run on modern PCs.

ykhwong's DOSBox SVN Daum Build (2013/02/05) is released. DOSBox emulates an Intel x86 PC, complete with sound, graphics, mouse, joystick, modem, etc., necessary for running many old MS-DOS games that simply cannot be run on modern PCs and operating systems, such as Microsoft Windows XP, Windows Vista, Linux and FreeBSD. However, it is not restricted to running only games. In theory, any MS-DOS or PC-DOS (referred to commonly as "DOS") application should run in DOSBox, but the emphasis has been on getting DOS games to run smoothly, which means that communication, networking and printer support are still in early development.

GBA.js 1.0 Beta 2

GBA.js 1.0 Beta 2 is released. Jeffrey Pfau released a new GameBoy Advance emulator. The project began last July. The first prototype took him five weeks. But it has worked for several weeks and several hours a day online prior to the first public version. The program runs on JavaScript. It is available online and works in a modern web browser. It runs on Chrome 20, Safari 6.0, Firefox 15 + (without sound) or Opera 12. It should also run on Internet Explorer 10. Firefox and Opera are particularly slow, it is better to use Safari or Chrome.
