DOSBox-X Git (2026/03/27)

EmuCR: DOSBoxDOSBox-X Git (2026/03/27) is compiled. DOSBox-x is a branch of DOSBox. DOSBox emulates an Intel x86 PC, complete with sound, graphics, mouse, joystick, modem, etc., necessary for running many old MS-DOS games that simply cannot be run on modern PCs and operating systems, such as Microsoft Windows XP, Windows Vista, Linux and FreeBSD.

DOSBox-X Changelog:
* Add dosbox.conf option to control the duration of the beep when the console and INT 10h receive a BEL character
* DOS console: For IBM PC mode, direct BEL output to INT 10h and let it do the beep, instead of duplicate code. For PC-98 mode, directly handle BEL by programming the PC speaker properly for PC-98 type BEL handling
* Bugfix: zero memory on DOS allocmem was enabled by default, and the code to read the dosbox.conf was commented out. This causes Bad Cat by Rainbow Arts to crash because the game seems to have an "overlay" system that expects DOS NOT to clear memory on memory allocation. Specifically, the game stores its stack way out beyond the main EXE memory block and it expects the OVL exe files to load between it and the stack without losing the stack
