PCSX2 SVN r5072 is released. PCSX2 is an open source PlayStation 2 (PS2) emulator for the Microsoft Windows and Linux operating systems. With the most recent versions, many PS2 games are playable (although speed limitations have made play-to-completion tests for many games impractical), and several games are claimed to have full functionality.

MAME Plus! v0.144u6 r4969 is released. New version of this MAME Emulator for Windows. MAME Plus! has many features to make it a great unoffical build.

Happy New Year, fellow emulationistas! Here's to a great new year filled with emulation goodies!

Mac users will be pleased to hear that the SDL 1.2.15 pre-release fixes full screen mode (-fullscreen). R. Belmont has posted instructions at the Forum. Linux users running Ubuntu 11.10 who are still experiencing problems building v0.2a should re-download the source code from the Download page. A tiny fix to the Linux Makefile has been made. I didn't think it warranted a new release.

Dolphin Git 3.0-372

Dolphin Git 3.0-372 is released. This is the trunk of Dolphin Project. Dolphin is the first Gamecube emulator able to run commercial games! Dolphin is a great Gamecube(NGC) and Wii emulator. It has a partial Wii support and plays most Gamecube games. Dolphin has been changed SVN to Git recently.

SainT v2.20

SainT v2.20 is released. SainT is an ATARI-ST emulator running on Windows (9x,NT,2000,XP) based machines. SainT was one of the first "cycle accurate" ATARI emulator. Cycle accuracy is very suitable to emulate ATARI demos. For those who don't know anything about demos, just know that's program pushing the hardware to the max. (more colors, more screen resolution, more speed, etc.). Of course SainT can run ATARI games too !

GameBoy Online (2012/01/17)

GameBoy Online (2012/01/17) is released. GameBoy Online is a Game Boy and GameBoy Color emulator written in Javascript. It strives to be efficient and try to have a perfect compatibility. Currently the execution speed is not optimal even on browsers. For example on Chrome, which is nevertheless deemed to run Javascript faster on a PC running Windows 7 64-bit version with a double heart 2 CPUs at 2.2 GHz, games run at normal speed but almost skipping some frames.

Stella SVN r2359 is released. Stella is a multi-platform Atari 2600 VCS emulator. The Atari 2600 Video Computer System (VCS), introduced in 1977, was the most popular home video game system of the early 1980's. Now you can enjoy all of your favorite Atari 2600 games on your PC thanks to Stella!

Pcejin SVN r204

Pcejin SVN r204 is released. Pcejin is a PC Engine / PCE CD-ROM / SuperGrafx Emulator. pcejin takes the accurate PCE emulation core in Mednafen and gives it a native Win32 interface and additional features. Mednafen-rr .mcm files can be loaded and converted with the Convert MCM menu item in the Tools menu, or the "Play Movie" hotkey. A mc2 file will be placed in the same directory as the mcm.

QMC2 SVN r3444

QMC2 SVN r3444 is released. QMC2 is a good GUI for MAME & MESS. QMC2(M.A.M.E. Catalog / Launcher II) is the successor of one of the first XMAME/MESS GUI frontends available, QMamecat (derived from MAMECAT, which was text-only). QMC2 has been rebuilt from scratch as a Qt 4 project. Parts of the design and code were inspired by its predecessor. The new design was made as flexible as possible to minimize dependencies from frontend- and CLI-related MAME changes, which was a major deficiency of QMamecat. QMC2 uses a template-based MAME configuration scheme, which can easily be enhanced with additional command line options (defined in an XML template file).

DeSmuME SVN r4160

DeSmuME SVN r4160 is released. DeSmuME is an open source Nintendo DS(NDS) emulator for Linux, Mac OS and Windows. DeSmuME supports save states, the ability to increase the size of the screen and it supports filters to improve image quality. DeSmuME also supports microphone use on Windows and Linux ports, as well as direct video and audio recording. The emulator also features a built-in movie recorder.

MESS SVN r14079

MESS SVN r14079 is released. MESS(Multi Emulator Super System) is an open source emulator which emulates a large variety of different systems. MESS is a source-available project which documents the hardware for a wide variety of (mostly vintage) computers, video game consoles, and calculators through software emulation, as MAME does for arcade games. As a nice side effect to this documentation, MESS allows software and games for these hardware platforms to be run on modern PCs.
