DOSBox emulates an Intel x86 PC, complete with sound, graphics, mouse, joystick, modem, etc., necessary for running many old MS-DOS games that simply cannot be run on modern PCs and operating systems, such as Microsoft Windows XP, Windows Vista, Linux and FreeBSD.

The goal is to be as accurate as possible while maintaining performance suitable for low-end devices. "Hack" options are discouraged, the default configuration should support all playable games with only some of the enhancements having compatibility issues.

EmuCR: GearboyGearboy v3.8.4 is released. Gearboy is a Nintendo Game Boy emulator written in C++. The emulator is focused on readability of source code, but nevertheless it has good compatibility. A lot of effort has gone into this in order to follow OOP and keep it as simple as possible.

Commodore 64 Emulator v0.7.9.9-alpha

Commodore 64 Emulator v0.7.9.9-alpha is released. A Commodore 64 emulator written in modern C++, built with SDL2 and designed around two priorities:Accuracy-first emulation (with a strong focus on real hardware behavior over “good enough” hacks); Debuggability (integrated monitor, break/watchpoints, and visibility into what the machine is doing). This project is actively under development; expect rough edges and incomplete features.

Supermode Sinden v0.3a-86da770

EmuCR: SupermodelSupermode Sinden v0.3a-86da770 is released. This is a fork of model3emu-code to add native Sinden light gun support. This fork uses ManyMouse to provide 2 player gun support in Linux and MacOSX. Two player mouse input in Windows is currently unchanged (supported in the official release) via the Windows Raw Input system. A Windows package is provided for Sinden border support.

Xenia Edge Git (2026/05/09)

EmuCR: XeniaXenia Edge Git (2026/05/09) is released. Xenia Edge is yet another experimental fork of the Xenia emulator, mainly based on Xenia Canary but with the aim of quicker iteration and improvements to Vulkan backend and Linux platform in particular. Windows of course remains fully supported as well and will benefit from changes made here especially with its Vulkan backend.
