ExtraMAME v26.7

ExtraMAME v26.7 is released. ExtraMAME is a small MS Windows compatible GUI wrapper for M.A.M.E., the Multiple Arcade Machine Emulator authored by Nicola Salmoria and the MAME team. M.A.M.E. let's you play thousands of old-school arcade games on your computer. "Extra M.A.M.E." is smaller and easier to use. It doesn't force you to fuss with difficult configurations and it's compatible with all M.A.M.E games.

Q-emuLator v4.0.4

EmuCR: Q-emuLatorQ-emuLator v4.0.4 is released. Q-emuLator is a software emulator of the QL, running as an application in the Windows and Mac OS environments. Q-emuLator has an interpreter of the 68008's instructions, and emulates the basic QL's hardware, redirecting input and output to the Mac's or PC's video, keyboard, mouse, disks, sound hardware and serial ports.

Gameplay v0.94b

Gameplay v0.94b is released. Gameplay is a frontend for DosBox, DosBox-X, and Scumm. It lets you play MS-DOS games easily and quickly—no complications, no configuration needed. Just choose a game from the list and play. Everything is preconfigured (best audio, best graphics, extra parameters, etc.).

KytyPS5 (2026/08/15) is released. KytyPS5 is a PlayStation 5 compatibility layer. The project is still in an early stage of development, so compatibility is limited and behavior may change quickly between builds.

PC6001VX v4.4.0 is released. PC6001VX emulates the NEC PC-6001 under Windows. PC6001VX is a fork of Yumitaro's PC6001V NEC PC-6001 emulator geared towards Linux & Unix like operating with the added bonus being compilable for Windows.

Copperline v0.16.0

EmuCR: Azahar  Copperline v0.16.0 is released. An Amiga emulator written in Rust, built around a vendored copy of the pure-Rust m68k CPU core, with a pixels + winit window for video and stdout for serial. It started life with the modest goal of booting DiagROM far enough to show a menu; it now boots Kickstart and runs timing-sensitive OCS and AGA software from the regression set at real speed.

Xenia Edge Git (2026/08/16)

EmuCR: XeniaXenia Edge Git (2026/08/16) is released. Xenia Edge is yet another experimental fork of the Xenia emulator, mainly based on Xenia Canary but with the aim of quicker iteration and improvements to Vulkan backend and Linux platform in particular. Windows of course remains fully supported as well and will benefit from changes made here especially with its Vulkan backend.

WinVICE r46214

EmuCR: SDLVICE WinVICE r46214 is released. WinVICE is a program that executes programs intended for the old 8-bit computers. The current version emulates the C64, the C128, the VIC20, all the PET models (except the SuperPET 9000, which is out of line anyway), the PLUS4 and the CBM-II (aka C610).

Luna's Project64 v3.7.3

Luna's Project64 v3.7.3 is released. This is a fork of Project64 3.0.1 that was made to have a Linux compatible alternative to 2.4 (Yes, it works on Windows too). It is not focused on accuracy or compatibility, but rather on functionality that improves the general gameplay experience on a select set of games. As such, it removes the nagware screen, and it contains the plugins that are necessary to play these games without issues.

Gearlynx v1.2.26

Gearlynx v1.2.26 is released. Gearlynx is a cross-platform Atari Lynx emulator written in C++ that runs on Windows, macOS, Linux, BSD and RetroArch.

N64 Git (2026/08/16)

EmuCR: N64N64 Git (2026/08/16) is compiled. Experimental low-level N64 emulator written in C and a bit of C++. Still under heavy development and not ready for prime time. Compatibility is not high and performance is not great (yet.) The goals of this project are to create a low-level emulator with good compatibility, while learning a lot along the way.

Snes9x Git (2026/08/16)

EmuCR: Snes9xSnes9x Git (2026/08/16) is compiled. Snes9x is a portable, freeware Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) emulator. It basically allows you to play most games designed for the SNES and Super Famicom Nintendo game systems on your PC or Workstation; which includes some real gems that were only ever released in Japan. Snes9x is the result of well over three years worth of part-time hacking, coding, recoding, debugging, divorce, etc. (just kidding about the divorce bit). Snes9x is coded in C++, with three assembler CPU emulation cores on the i386 Linux and Windows ports.

rpcs3 Git (2026/08/16)

EmuCR: rpcs3 rpcs3 Git (2026/08/16) is compiled. RPCS3 is an open-source Sony PlayStation 3 emulator and debugger written in C++ for Windows and Linux. The emulator has been in development since early 2011 and currently supports modern DirectX 12, Vulkan and OpenGL renderers. The emulator is capable of booting and playing a decent amount of commercial games and PlayStation 3 SDK samples. Many more titles are also becoming playable with future development by contributors.

Project64 Git (2026/08/16)

EmuCR: Project 64Project64 Git (2026/08/16) is compiled. Project 64 is a proprietary Nintendo 64 emulator for Windows. It employs a plug-in system that allows third-party software developers to create their own implementation of a specified component. Project64 allows the user to play Nintendo 64 games on a computer by reading ROM images, either dumped from the read-only memory of a Nintendo 64 cartridge or created directly on the computer as homebrew. Project64 started as an exercise by Jabo and zilmar in an attempt to see if they were capable of programming a Nintendo 64 emulator. It's open source now.

PCSX2 v2.7.521

EmuCR: PCSX2PCSX2 v2.7.521 is released. PCSX2 is a free and open-source PlayStation 2 (PS2) emulator. Its purpose is to emulate the PS2's hardware, using a combination of MIPS CPU Interpreters, Recompilers and a Virtual Machine which manages hardware states and PS2 system memory. This allows you to play PS2 games on your PC, with many additional features and benefits.

OpenMSX Git (2026/08/16)

EmuCR:OpenMSX OpenMSX Git (2026/08/16) is compiled. OpenMSX is an open source MSX emulator which is free according to the Debian Free Software Guidelines, available under the GNU General Public License.For copyright reasons the emulator cannot be distributed with original BIOS ROM images. OpenMSX includes C-BIOS a minimal implementation of the MSX BIOS, allowing to play quite some games without the need to have an original MSX BIOS ROM image. You can also use your own BIOS ROM image if you please.

EmuCR: MesenMesenCE Git (2026/08/16) is released. Mesen is a multi-system emulator for Windows, Linux, and macOS. It supports NES, SNES, Game Boy (GB/SGB/GBC), Game Boy Advance, PC Engine, SMS/Game Gear, and WonderSwan (WS/WSC). MesenCE is a community-managed fork based on Mesen2, created to maintain and expand this emulator into the future.

FB Neo Git (2026/08/16)

EmuCR: FB AlphaFB Neo Git (2026/08/16) is compiled. FinalBurn Neo is an Emulator for Arcade Games & Select Consoles. It is based on the emulators FinalBurn and old versions of MAME.

DuckStation Git (2026/08/16)

EmuCR: DuckStation DuckStation Git (2026/08/16) is compiled. DuckStation is an simulator/emulator of the Sony PlayStation(TM) console, focusing on playability, speed, and long-term maintainability. The goal is to be as accurate as possible while maintaining performance suitable for low-end devices. "Hack" options are discouraged, the default configuration should support all playable games with only some of the enhancements having compatibility issues.
