    Is this currently the most advanced and compatible psx emu or is it pcsx-r?

    The most compatible emulators for PSX are ePSXe and pSX... not PCSXR...

    Maybe 2-3 years ago epsxe and psx are the best but not anymore. Get with the times, neither has been updated in almost 3 years and epsxe even has problems with simple jpeg images like Einhander's gallery.
