EmuCR: Project 64Project64 v2.0.0.3 is released for chosen testers. Project64 is a proprietary Nintendo 64 emulator for Windows. It employs a plug-in system that allows third-party software developers to create their own implementation of a specified component. Project64 allows the user to play Nintendo 64 games on a computer by reading ROM images, either dumped from the read-only memory of a Nintendo 64 cartridge or created directly on the computer as homebrew. Project64 started as an exercise by Jabo and zilmar in an attempt to see if they were capable of programming a Nintendo 64 emulator. If you want to test, you have to donate money to the developers.

Project64 Changelog:

Project64 2.0.0.3:
- check for zombie processes
- Rewrote sync to audio
- Sync to audio default to on
- Fix bug in tlb write (Bomberman 64 - The Second Attack)
- Update check on VI Half life if in hard loop checking value (absolute crap)
- change order of code exection for plugins (for z64gl)

  1. Not much sense in posting private builds changelog.

And no one really gives a shit for PJ64. 1964 projects and Glide64 improvements have much better future.

PJ64 just have some better performance at cost of much worse timming and worse plugins.

  2. You DO know that Zilmar rewrote 85% or so of the code from scratch right? Your argument is invalid, no one gives a damn about your precious 1964 or "We're-too-good-to-implement-a-GUI Mupen64". I'm a beta tester and I can assure that the timing is a lot better with 2.0.03. Take your agenda elsewhere.

    1. Better than what? Better than PJ 1.7 betas? Ok ...

    2. And tell you are able to use filter plugins or able to use bilinear filtering + extra i dont think so if you are so sure about this then upload project 64 2.0 even if is faster then other N64 emulators is at the end all that matter is compatibility wich havent improved in 2.0.
I am a beta tester and i can say for sure this 1964 have a better compatibility than Project 64 and Mupen have a GUI i dont know wich version of mupen you are using because all the version have GUI and project 64 and 1964 are the fastest N64 emulators.

    3. Can you tell me if frame buffer effects are working alright with new Jabo's Direct3D?
I mean good speed and full FB effects.
Glide64 has good quality and effects but not so good speed in some games.
      Thnx.

    4. @Stranno, actually it is, Jet Force Gemini actually boots up, Kirby 64 has a HUD, and DK64 boots up. Now be a good boy and go home.

      You lose, good day, sir!

  5. Oh, so this is still payware, I see (that's right, payware. Donations are supposed to be optional). You know, I would gladly pay for an emulator if it was constantly being worked on towards improving accuracy and performance. Unlike PJ64, which takes years to get an update. Besides, wouldn't releasing the beta to the public (so you can have more people testing and reporting issues) and charging for the stable version make A LOT more sense if they need the money so badly?

    ReplyDelete
  6. Project 64 was the Shiznik TEN years ago then they went pay.
I use Dolphin which is not only free but a community project.
Sure it is WII and Game Cube but also plays the WADS.
Maybe one day it will be a n64 emulator as well but because I no longer care about n64 games I have the other 800,000 other emulated roms to enjoy.

I wish the authors luck but I have many other resources to play the worst Superman game in history. But seriously, how many games on n64 do you care about that you want to dish out money?

    1. Also, I don't have to deal with 50 different plugins.

      Delete
    2. That's funny, I only have to deal with four; one for the controller, one for the GPU, one for the Audio and one for the RSP. Not sure what you're doing wrong.

    1. Not sure why people are bitching about this. It's not like it's contributing money to a dead project (*cough* Martin Korth and no$gba*cough*), as they're actively testing ROMs, stability and overall operation of the emulator. In case you hadn't noticed, it's called a closed beta for a reason, they don't want unstable emulators to be released; if they did, all hell would break loose and we'd hear nothing but whining wankers about their precious Elmo Count by Numbers videogame not working.

    2. Wow, the worm really has turned.

Hello nintendo1889x, I see you've gone from Mr I will leak this piece of shit, to Mr Zilmer's personal ass kisser. I wonder what made you change, hmmm ? Did you get caught out ? or found out who therandomizer really is ?

Best go and edit those older posts of yours, I mean, we wouldn't want them suddenly appearing on PJ64's forums now, would we ? For example, someone could....oh I dunno...make a cache copy, a print-screen copy then post them for Zilmer to see ? One wonders what the man himself would think if he knew one of his beta testers was planning on a leak.

      Have a nice day now.

      Delete
    3. I won't leak it because it's unstable and people would bitch about it even more. I only considered it, I never made any promises, now did I?? You don't know what real beta testing is, do you? Do want an unstable alpha or beta build that has a lot of broken games and features to be released to the public? Smart idea, Einstein. Don't be such a c**t. Don't like it? Too bad.

      Delete
    4. LMAO.
      Did I hit a nerve, nintendo18...I mean therandomizer ?

As for promises, oh I think you did. Perhaps you should re-read your old posts, they're quite revealing. To be honest, I really don't give a flying f*ck whether it leaks, spills, masterbates, or just disappears up it's own arse because 1.6, 1.7, and all the great FREE emulators out there play the games the way I like them, thanks.

Anyway, you enjoy your day and try to not get too upset, we wouldn't want Mr Zilmer finding out you are a leaker, would we now, lol.

      Delete
    5. I don't see the post anymore. Too bad, so sad. Not promising anything. Don't like it? Too bad. People like you are what make programmers rage-quit. You're what makes their lives a living hell. And how the hell do you know my PJ64 forums username? Any more smart comments from you and you're being reported and banned.

    6. >>I don't see the post anymore

Oh I do, lol. Let me "Remind" you.

      "therandomizerDecember 28, 2012 10:20 AM

I could guess it was to prove that the project is alive (albeit in a near-death state), but asking for a $20 is a bit preposterous. Enough of the c**ktease EmuCR. Don't post emulators that no one can download. "

      More nintendo18...I mean therandomizer goodness.

      "therandomizerDecember 28, 2012 6:17 AM

I'm tempted to post a download link here out of spite. "

Want some more ? You reading this, Zilmer ?

      "therandomizerDecember 28, 2012 10:19 AM

I, uh, might need to use a new identity and a VPN to upload it in complete anonymity."

Still a denier, Mr Leaker ?

      >>Don't like it?

      No, I LOVE IT !!

      >>People like you are what make programmers rage-quit.

Really ? And how would that be ? Not making any money ? Then get a F*king job.

      >>You're what makes their lives a living hell.

"Living hell" ? lol. Try looking at our troops in Afghanistan, or Doctors and Nurses on New Years Day looking after plebs like you. If programming a N64 emulator is a living hell then go and f*cking do something productive like McDonalds burger flipping. I'll have cheese with mine, thanks.

      >> And how the hell do you know my PJ64 forums username?

You should stop being a dick and "Think" about where you reveal your usenames and what trails you leave.

      >>Any more smart comments from you and you're being reported and banned.

Lol. I have more chance of parting the sea than a dick like you has at banning someone here.

      Delete
    7. I'm still not going to leak it, regardless of what I said in the past. No one, especially demanding dick-weeds like you, are going to get their grubby hands on the beta. After speaking with Zilmar and helping him neutralize bugs, I retract what I said, and have no intent to leak the release. You want to try it? Go right ahead, no one's stopping you.

      Delete
  10. Sorry, no download for you, wanker. I'll never leak the emulator, too bad, so sad.

  11. I would be very weary to donate money to any N64 project. In the past people donated to PJ64 during the 1.6-1.7 rebuild days, and then all of a sudden they disappear for two years. I bet you once they have enough money to pay rent, or whatever updates will once cease again. N64 is a rip-off to the emulation community.

    1. I see a flaw in your logic. What about all the commercial Android emulators?

      Fuck Zilmar and his fanboys

    3. So that somehow makes it justified for them to sell code thats originally for free (just look at Robert Broglia's commercial VBA port, where original VBA devs don't see a cent). Same logic.

  12. and get it banned, hell no. zilmar is smart enough to use watermarks in the executable.

  15. They are not even charging for the emulator, they are charging for people to beta test. You're supposed to pay people to beta test for you (or at least request nicely to a small group of people), not the other way around. Why anyone would pay to be a beta tester is beyond me.

And there's really no point in leaking an unstable emulator, let alone one with DRM included.

      Of my current projects,

      I

Maintain the XBCD setup scripts and inf, ensuring it will work on new controls and operating systems
Test and deploy patches for Nrage, as well as applying fixes for any small overlooked bugs in the new code
Test and deploy patches and test builds for VBA-M, Maintaining the windows build files
Maintaining the Forum software and proactively managing spam by searching out and banning spambots before they get a chance to post.

Keeping the peace between the developers within the projects im active in by acting as an intermediary when trouble breaks out. More often then not, this trouble is caused from external sources.

Then theres the interaction with Various developers of different projects that i collaborate with to deploy and test patches and fixes in Nrage, XBCD, Vba-M, gb_apu, FEX, UPX, Mozilla Software, Desmume, PCSX2, ePSXe, and any sub projects within and related ot these, such as extension developers or plugin authors.

If i worked in a place large enough, What I do would be called Human Resources Management or Project Manager.

  19. You don't pay to beta test at all

you donate to support the ongoing status of the project.

Some of us had access to the beta (1.7) before even committing to donating.

Its more along the lines of - People who donate are more likely to be people who give a real shit about continued development. Zilmar, unlike Martin Korth, hasn't shat all over everyone by dropping the project and taking all the dosh with him.

Its not progressing as fast as we like, true. Its not progressing as fast as Zilmar would like either, but in both instances where the source has been available, it hasn't made much a stir at all. Nobody has taken and done anything with the Core and RSP 1.6 source code thats available since DeathDroid got tired with it.
