EmuCR: MAME4droidMame4droid Reloaded v1.9.2 is released. MAME4droid Reloaded emulates arcade games supported by original MAME 0.139u1. This MAME4droid version is targeted to Dual-Core devices (1GHz and 512MB RAM minimum), because it is based on a high specs 2009 PC MAME build. Anyway don't expect arcade games of the 90 to work at full speed. With some games that are really bad optimized (like outrun or mk series) you will need at least a 1.5 ghz dual-core device. This is related to MAME build used, since it is targeted to high specs PC's as i said before. This version doesn't have an uml back end ARM dynamic recompiler, which means drivers based on high specs arcade CPUs won't be playable (it has not sense since this games will be slow in any case).

GroovyUME is a custom U.M.E. build mainly aimed at CRT monitors, as we are convinced CRT technology is a must when it comes to enjoying emulation in its full glory. However you can use GroovyMAME to alliviate some of the annoyances associated to emulation on LCD displays, specially for those models which are capable of refreshing at custom rates.

Got interested in the recent Spider WIP improvements and the correlated Table Tennis Championship development, I’ve decided to take a look at this exotic FPGA-based video blitter.

The thing is definitely weird, as Haze also explained in his blog it basically reads an i/o port to enter into “blitter mode”, and any following write to the memory mapped bus actually routes to the blitter, and using the address bus instead of the data bus either for obfuscation or performance reasons.

renameSET.dat v0.160 is released. This project came about as a result of the continuous changes that mamedevs provide the names of the sets out whenever a new version of the executable. By the time the project has expanded by collecting not only changes the name of the sets but also a kind of statistical data-base.
