EmuCR:PS2 emulatorPCSX2 SVN r3939 is released. PCSX2 is an open source PlayStation 2 (PS2) emulator for the Microsoft Windows and Linux operating systems. With the most recent versions, many PS2 games are playable (although speed limitations have made play-to-completion tests for many games impractical), and several games are claimed to have full functionality.

PCSX2 SVN Changelog:
r3938
SPU2-X:
- Prevent the mixer from clamping to the maximum possible range as some audio output modules hate that and start clipping. Notably portaudio is unaffected in tests but all the MS APIs not ;)
r3939
SPU-X:
- Changed defaults and ranges for the soundtouch timestretch parameters. This reduces added latency from timestretching.

  8. how much system memory does this emulator require and does it work on xp?

  9. 200+ mb and yes
but better use win7, since it runs faster on dx10/11

  10. Air (Jake Stine, one of the PCSX2 coders) has already stated in the official forums that 1GB of system RAM is the most comfortable minimum (it can still run on less, though) and 2GB is the sweet spot. It will not benefit from more system ram beyond 2GB.

It's more CPU and gfx card intensive anyway. With CPU you can throw as much speed as you want and it will benefit in terms of performance (not from cores, though. Unless you are using the software plugin with more than 3 threads, PCSX2 will not have any performance increase beyond 2 cpue cores). Architecture AND clockspeed is what's important. A 3.0 ghz e8400 will be enough to get fullspeed on a lot of games (except for the really heavy ones like god of war and MGS2).

For the graphics card, it needs a 9500 GT with 512 mb min if you only play at native res. You really need a faster card with more vram if you want to bump up the internal res. They have also stated a theoretical maximum amount of VRAM that GSDX can address, which is 2GB. If it tries to use more than that, PCSX2 is going to throw out errors all over the place (due to limits imposed by the DX API)

  19. Good job, team, but Hot Wheels: Beat That (US version tested) don't work when I put the plugin in Software Mode: the emulator closes in Memory Card check time.
