rpcs3 SVN r28 is released. rpcs3 is an open source PlayStation 3 (PS3) emulator for the Microsoft Windows. Current versions can run only small homebrew for PS3. Developers are planning to make it to emulate PS3 on its speed in the near future.
rpcs3 purpose:
- Make PS3 developers easily test their apps and homebrews on PC without crashing their PS3 or moving their apps from PC to PS3.
- Just playing PS3 games on your PC and have fun! ( In the future )
rpcs3 SVN Changelog:

- Implemented "DisAsm & Interpreter" mode.
- Implemented SPU emulating.
- Fixed crash in NullMemoryBlock read mode.
- Implemented loading flags from ".got", ".data.sceFStub" and ".rodata.sceFNID" sections.
- Fixed seek for FS syscalls.
- Emulated more PPU instructions.

On topic, while this is indeed a start, it will take at least several years to see some practical use and playable games (depends on how fast the technology will advance). And I don't believe I'm gonna say this, but if you want to play ps3 games, get a ps3. I would, except I have some other priorities right now and currently there are only few games on ps3 that I would like to play (is it me or there are no decent RPG's on ps3, I mean only "shitty" FF XIII, and there are no ATLUS SMT games). Games are getting more dumber and dumber (in most cases) as time passes by, but A LOT more in console cases. And market lies there, so everyone suffers. For lazy dumb ass couch potatoes. I really don't have any major issues with consoles and console games except when they take over a PC franchise and ruin it (Dragon Age 2 for example). Most games can be finished under 10 hours (since there aren't many decent RPG and those that are out mostly suck). I mean I had more fun playing FF II/I (from 1991/1989 I think) that playing FF XIII at my friends house. Graphics aren't everything. PS3 will never live up to the glory of PS2 IMO (nor even PS1). Those are my two cents I guess. Regards folks.

You guys, it will take time for this to be in a state to properly emulate. A powerful machine will be required....but it's very promising since the architecture that the PS3 uses (PowerPC instructions) has alot of documentation already. The PS2's CPU (The Emotion Engine) was a completely custom designed CPU compared to anything out at the time...thus why it's been such a challenge to document and emulate.
So keep up the great work, rpcs3 devs. ;)

I saw my brother coding nes emulator , It take him about 3 year of development to bring his emu to decent stage,many people think emulation easy , I write mappers once and some ppu (Graphic unit in nes) code , It's like pain in the ass , So I think if they have good crew (don't left the project because of met girls or dying) and regards to pc evolution (cube cpu and ram and liquid nitro cooling) I think we will saw decent ps3 emu in next 3-4 year , maybe in end of world
maybe 10 year later losers...

Please all developers should bring experience in progamming for PCSX2 used many programs such C++,Java,VB....., for JPCSP (for PSP used Java program to make emulator for PSP) , so all developers should use all programs that make emualtor fast and take short time to do, because I think all developers have previous experience,so should take them to recode for PS3 and XBOX, the PC must be stronger than other console such XBOX, PS3, PSP, PS2 ,Wii,Nitendo ect. ,so we just use only PC we cover all console and other multimedias.
PC is the super workstation, can use like other consoles by using only programs by developers.
If process of game such PS3 and XBOX are so complex, we should use program that can cover all complex and use short codes but can support all games to play, because in PCSX2 now is good,but take long time maybe since 1990 or 2000 until now.So I hope emulator for PS3, there will be super developers to creat PS3 emulator by taking short time ,only 1 or 2 years by using short code by support all game, so means if all programs in the world that developers use to code the emulators are to take long time, so develpers should create other program that can creat emulator fast than ever.I think developer can do it, so emulators developers must be stonger than consoles creators.
Even if they make it fast by using the same emulation way like pcsx2, it will be such a demanding emulator so we will have to wait for stronger PCs to handle so much emulating power. Now if they somehow find another way... I don't know. And this project idea is based on something hard consindering how many things are needed to make this emulator functioning. Godspeed guys.
