PCSX2 SVN r4964

EmuCR:PS2 emulatorPCSX2 SVN r4964 is released. PCSX2 is an open source PlayStation 2 (PS2) emulator for the Microsoft Windows and Linux operating systems. With the most recent versions, many PS2 games are playable (although speed limitations have made play-to-completion tests for many games impractical), and several games are claimed to have full functionality.

PCSX2 SVN Changelog:

GSdx: GSRendererHW.h and GCC are good friends now.
r4964
GSdx: as usual, going back to msvc, suddenly wild errors appear.

    O people handling the data in the PlayStation 2 completely different way of processing data in pcsx2 , I wish to know what is the difference and how to reach the result of proper operation of all Sony's games, all for playing on your computer without any problem in resolution or graphic .

    I would love to see Black running in hardware mode and Timesplitters 3 without big graphic bugs like in Robot Wars where screen is just gray. Still, pcsx2 is amazing emulator.

    Shadow of Colossus is a pretty demanding game. It does require a pretty decent PC to run at full speed with no speedhacks.

    It's one of the rare games I can say is pretty much "barely playable" concerning FPS on my old PC.
    (3.0 dual-core AMD, 4GB RAM, 9800GT 1GB GDDR3) and 27 FPS in temple (moment after loading a savegame) and 50 FPS with VU stealing set on 2.


    I should've had my new 2500k (and MoBo and RAM) by now if I wasn't cursed... meaning couldn't find a piss worth P67 MoBo in my country, even at 1/3 higher price than in most countries. :p
    My point being following question, is there anyone here by chance had an experience with emulators on 2500K? Kinda interested. Cheers.

    @#13 I've just finished Dragon Quest 8 and it works normal with 100% speed, etc. Only problem was 'chasing shadow' in shadow world on hardware mode and black squares around weapons sometimes. No sound bugs...

    Ram > 1- 4GB KingStone DDR3
    2- 2GB KingStone DDR3 CPU > Core2Quad 9550 2.83 , Cores 4 , Cash 12MB
    GPU > AMD ATI Radeon HD 5770 1 GB DDR5 Support 2GB

    So , in game GodOfWarII and Taken4 when i high Resoultion or make Native X2 or X3 Or X4 , i found shadow and Lines , so in all Versions not fixed that proplems

    #11...i using an inspiron 1525 and have no problems playing with no fps loss..gsdx is more cpu priority than gpu..zerogs is gpu but no longer updated..try few speed hacks (but not all) and change internal res lower but not too low to where things all blocky :)

    To be honest, haven't tried running it on zerogs, but I just might(although I really hate using anything besides gsdx). Concerning GSDX I know that I'm incapable of running it smoothly on my current rig atm cause my CPU is causing a huge bottleneck (EE always 95%+ in-game).

    Concerning Speedhacks... only VU cycle steal on #2 helps in a good way like I said.

    But it's not THAT much of a problem. I might try and finish it like this (killed 5 Colossus atm) and I might put it off till I get my new CPU.

    Also... I won't have enough time for anything as soon as I get what is probably gonna be the best game of all times... *hint hint* profile pic. For those completely oblivious, it has something to do with dragons. >.>

    I have a 2500k 3.3 stock,no Oc'ing.Gtx 560.I run Shadow ot C @ full speed with no speedhacks.

    There are some interesting benchmarks on MAME world,comparing the bulldozer fx-8150@ 4 to a i7 @ 4 and the i7 shits all over the bulldozer.almost double the speed on some games.

    after all,memory bandwith is the mothers milk of emulators,followed closely by clocks per core.and intel knows all about memory bandwith ;)

    The thing is that Bulldozer failed pretty hard in almost every situation. The only thing that it's good for is some heavily threaded apps specially designed to use stuff like BD. In everything else it fails behind sometimes by as much as 50% cause Intel is king concerning single-threaded apps. And not to mention clock for clock and TDP (while overclocked BD "scored" 450W TDP while new SB max out @ idk... 110 maybe?)

    And thanks for mentioning the info on your test run. I was having similar rig in ming (might wait for new Nvidia series). Thanks.

    Señores, les pido su atencion en esto, no se como se organisa esto de los plugins para el PCSX2, pero en realidad hay una gran cantidad de personas incluyendo a todos los usuarios de linux, que nos gustaria que trasladen el codigo fuente del el GSDX Plugin ya que es el mejor plugin que existe hasta el momento, a OpenGL, y asi el emulador tendria una igualdad de funcionamiento tanto en linux como en windows, porque a la hora de crear un soft libre para todo el mundo, se piensa en todos y eso significa que Windows, Linux y mac, todos deven tener la misma oportunidad

    Gentlemen, I call your attention to this, I do not know how it organizes the plugins for PCSX2, but in reality there are a lot of people including all Linux users, we would like to move the source code of the GSdx to OpenGL, and it's the best plugin that exists at the moment, and so the emulator operation would equal on both Linux and Windows, because the time to create a free Software for everyone, we think of each and that means Windows, Linux and Mac, everyone should have the same opportunity.
