DOSBox-X Git (2026/07/22) is compiled. DOSBox-x is a branch of DOSBox. DOSBox emulates an Intel x86 PC, complete with sound, graphics, mouse, joystick, modem, etc., necessary for running many old MS-DOS games that simply cannot be run on modern PCs and operating systems, such as Microsoft Windows XP, Windows Vista, Linux and FreeBSD.

DOSBox-X Changelog:
* FAT driver: Open file objects should also use the clusterChainMemory() to avoid re-reading the file allocation chain every time the DOS application seeks or reads in the file, unless seeking backwards. To keep things working, file writes do not yet make use of the cluster chain memory
* fatFile::fatFile reorganize code, move seekto to the scope where it is used (nothing else uses it)
