EmuCR: Zsnes Zsnes SVN r5305 is released. Zsnes is a Super Nintendo emulator programmed by zsKnight and _Demo_. On April 2, 2001 the ZSNES project was GPL'ed and its source released to the public. It currently runs on Windows, Linux, FreeBSD, and DOS. Remember that this is a public beta so don't expect this to run on your machine.

Zsnes SVN Changelog:

Increase flag and line buffers, new CPUs, along with Linux virtual flags can cause issues otherwise.

  3. A good emulator, but as someone pointed out... the sound isn't working at all.

Tried a dozen games before I finally gave up. Won't revert to a older version yet, I'll save this version first and then download one of the older versions.

  4. Strange..... I've gone back quite a few SVN's now, and none of them have the sound working. Is this a known issue with the SVN builds?

If so, it's something that needs a fix, to be mild with this statement.

  5. to the previous Anonymous persons: indeed this 5305 build has no sound implemented at all AND it is a known issue for a while with previous SVN builds. the last ZSNES SVN build to have sound is SVN 4538.

the makers of these recent ZSNES SVN builds have yet to put in the "new" audio/sound core. it doesn't seem to be a high priority yet.

remember folks, these SVN builds are similar to Mozilla Firefox "nightly" builds. they're like alphas/betas so don't expect everything to work like the stable/final releases of ZSNES.
