EmuCR: PCSX2PCSX2 SVN r5097 is compiled. PCSX2 is an open source PlayStation 2 (PS2) emulator for the Microsoft Windows and Linux operating systems. With the most recent versions, many PS2 games are playable (although speed limitations have made play-to-completion tests for many games impractical), and several games are claimed to have full functionality.

PCSX2 SVN Changelog:
r5097
GSdx: there was a float-int conversion overflow in vertex trace, texture coord min/max could have been detected wrong, silent hill origins should look better now.

  1. Can you guys at EmuCR sort your ads out ?
I normally block all ads with a script blocker in Firefox, but sites I frequently visit and like, such as this, I whitelist all ads to support the site. But lately a one of your ads from baidu.com is locking Firefox in a loop and forcing me to keep refreshing to get out of the lock, so I have to block it just to type this.

Anyway keep up the good work.

And before any comments degenerate into some hate-filled nonsense for PCSX2, I'll say that this emulator has gotten better and better over the last few months. MTVU has been a god-send on my ageing 775 QX9650. GT4, around the Nuremberg ring, 4x PS2 native res, hacks on level 5, solid 60fps and looking amazing.

  3. What are the appropriate settings in order to play SFEX3 smoothly? I just got a quad-core laptop and it's still laggy as if I'm still on a single core with hyperthreading.

  6. #3 - posting on from my #1 comments, try this.

Try a preset under "Hacks", enable them and drag the "Preset" slider to 5, then untick the "Preset" setting and tick "MTVU".

In GSDX settings make sure you are on Hardware and DX9 or DX10/11, Interlacing OFF - If you can stand the flickering, Texture Filtering off or on the first setting, Allow 8-bit textures, tick the "Original PS2 Res" if you are on integrated gfx, Use SPU2-X plugin and "Interpolation" Nearest, Direct Sound, Timestretch. And use images not the original DVD.

Try those, they are using a high hack setting but I honestly do not get any problems with most games. Games that have problems I normally have to run in Software mode.

  10. #8 - I know this may seem like a noob comment, but have you checked your power profiles ? Just make sure your laptop isn't clocking down with a power-saving profile.

  11. Yeah, PCSX2 sure got pretty fast in the last one year or so. Coincidentally it happened right after I upgraded to Sandy overclocked to 4.9Ghz. I wonder if it has anything to do with the raw cpu power available.

    Nah, probably not.
