  1. ..... all of these svns compared to the actual release of 0.9.7 give like 10-20 less fps i think it is because nichole has enabled the wifi or something

  3. Er...It'd be really nice to know what's really changed; "DING!" just looks like a bad taste joke for all those who have been testing the emulator's advances seriously.

  4. Line 509 Edited in MMU.cpp

    printf("DING!\n"); To //printf("DING!\n");

Meaning it has been commented out

  5. um hey i just compiled this build i disabled the WiFi(Was not working anyway and reduced the fps by 5-10+ fps) and ran Profile-Guided Optimization(extra 5-10fps depending on hardware)
    Virus scan log included

  7. @ Anon 9

Noticed 10% improvement over the regular svn uploaded here. Used Pokemon Soul Silver for testing(First open area in Kanto region (like anyone cares)). But it still doesn't beat the official 0.9.7 version.

    Svn 4000 = 40 FPS
Svn 4020 (with your optimizations) = 44 FPS
    Official 0.9.7 = 48 FPS

On the side note (if you are to check on this page again). Could you please explain me concisely how did you do that or paste me link to some tutorial etc?

    Regards

  8. Also just stumbled onto one nice thing concerning optimization. Disabling "Advanced Bus-Level Timing" (Config-Emulation Settings>Deselect -||-) got me additional boost 48 > 53 FPS. Was just searching for the optimizations Anon 9 made. Meaning.

@ People that bitch so much about *ucking performance. With just few small tweaks you yourself can make it run faster. Some optimizations may spoil your gameplay performance and maybe disable some things. But instead of bitching do something. We get this fine product for FREE, and it's all previously set for us. Only thing we need to do is start it and load rom (occasional control settings is bound) >.>

Seriously, some of you just disgust me. Like you payed for this product and now aren't satisfied. Make your own emulator or own SVN build. :p

    Regards,
    Goran H.

  9. Pardon for my previous rant. But on all the emulators I keep checking from time to time (GBA/PS/PS2/DS/SNES/N64) a lot of comments are about how devs of these products are lazy pricks that don't do anything, a lot of people then defend and occasionally some idiot blames Nichole for "things". I've been using Emulators something like 4 or so years now and I (like anyone rational out there) has noticed some serious improvements both in accuracy, compatibility and performance of most popular emulators. Sometimes devs hit a brick wall on some things (mostly performance). But on the other hand, you can buy a simple E8400 CPU and overclock it to 4GHz and run everything perfectly. I've been using my AMD Athlon X2 6000+ for more than 3 years now and I can play most of things pretty decently (meaning playable). My point. If you want more "X" (usually performance) then get involved. Don't just bitch about things. Just look at how many games these emulators can run decently ON YOUR PC. Any PC Gamer will more than appreciate that his favorite platform is being able to run so many games that aren't even designed for it. And in a lot of cases BETTER. This was more than enough from me... (I know these comments weren't of much use, but to those that have some sense, perhaps)

    Regards.

  10. Just wanted to say that I got 59 (perfect!) FPS with few optimizations I've made on official 0.9.7. That's 40>59 (from this SVN here to personally optimized DeSmuME). For mathematically illiterate that's 47.5% boost. And 22.9% compared to the original non-optimized version of DeSmuME(once again used 0.9.7 official). That count as speed-up in my books.

Here is the address where you can see how most of these simple things are done and then do it yourself. (http://wiki.desmume.org/index.php?title=Faq) under "DeSmuME runs too slow!" and also many other things as it is FAQ.

    Off to sleep.
