EmuCR: MameUIHiScoreMicro64 v1.00.2012.06.24 Build 692 is released. Micro64 is a freeware commodore c64 emulator. Currently micro64 has two different VIC II emulation modes: cycle exact (default, works fine) and half-cycle exact (next-gen, rudimentary implementation – currently damn slow).

Micro64 v1.00.2012.06.24 Build 692 Changelog:
- Implemented new PAL emulation with true virtual PAL signal encoding,
signal bandwidth filtering and decoding and with emulation of the VIC NMOS
glitches (which are applied to the Y/luminance YUV channel) and it includes
an cool looking CRT monitor simulation. A current very good midrange or
highend graphic card is needed for this new PAL and CRT monitor emulation,
so don't even bother to try with an low end or bad midrange graphics card,
CPU-integrated GPU, APU or chipset graphics. And it is maybe only for
NVIDIA graphics cards, because I've no AMD/ATI graphics card for testing &
debugging.
- Refactored video settings option menu with an more cleaner structure
- Added a workaround for corrupt PSID tune files, whom don't reset the
volume register at start in an right way
- Fixed SID digi boost
- Fixed SID SINC resampling
- "SSEized" SID SINC resampling and prepared these code parts for
"AVXiziation"

  1. This is going to be the best C64 emu - one day.
But for now the VICE is still the best choice.
    Agree?

  2. Micro64 author here. Micro64 has Joystick support :) The joystick will be simply auto detected through the SDL api and you can swap them with the numpad period key.

    1. The emulator is becoming better and better each time.
An assign keys option for both joysticks is something the emulator should really have. And volume control would be also appreciated .
Thank you and congratulations on your work!

  3. Ok, some feedback.
I have no idea where these new true virtual PAL signal encoding + CRT monitor simulation settings are, could you please shed some light ? And how to use them ?

Joystick emulation is there, but, it defauts to use the main Joystick's axis, and my problem is my X360 joystick's main axis is the analog thumbsticks. If you could allow joystick "Configuration" then I could assign the virtual C64 joystick controls to the X360's D-Pad controls.

Bad bug - Alt-tab to the desktop and the mouse is not released, it hangs in the top right-hand corner - Win 7 x64.

Bug 2 - Testing the CPU-Lite/GPU-Lite one of the settings results in a pure white screen. Not sure which because I cannot see anything.

    Really getting there,nice.

  4. you can alway use a palette (PC64 for instance)
That looks close to the real 64

  5. Isn't the PC64 the same palette as one used in the MESS emulator, the emu that is known to strive for the accuracy ?!

  6. Or more likely the default external palette from Vice is the same as one used in the mess emulator ?!
