EmuCR: Project 64Project64 v2.0.0.2 is released. Project64 is a proprietary Nintendo 64 emulator for Windows. It employs a plug-in system that allows third-party software developers to create their own implementation of a specified component. Project64 allows the user to play Nintendo 64 games on a computer by reading ROM images, either dumped from the read-only memory of a Nintendo 64 cartridge or created directly on the computer as homebrew. Project64 started as an exercise by Jabo and zilmar in an attempt to see if they were capable of programming a Nintendo 64 emulator. If you want to test, you have to donate money to the developers.

Project64 Changelog:

Project64 2.0.0.2:
Recompiler bug fixes

Project64 2.0.0.1:

    1. You can't. You have to pay $20 to become a supporter.

Download better free N64 emulators from elsewhere, or get 1.7.50 from my link in my other post below.

    2. Exactly, it's a dead-end project. I can provide a link too if anyone wants it.

    1. C'mon, Jei, don't post emulators that aren't freeware.

  3. No official update from Jabo or on the official PJ64 blog...seems legit. I'm sure someone will leak it sooner or later. I already donated back when the PJ64 1.7 beta began and I can assure it was money well spent.....not.

    1. I mean if you are still providing that download link at all... I would really love it and would even be willing to pay some.

  4. Who was the sodding pillock that announced this? There is no official information about this alleged 2.02 or whatever. The PJ64 we all know is dead.

    2. Yep, downloaded it, but no games run, all of them crash the emulator. They really should have tested this, all I get is a "failed to initialize N64 system" message. FAIL.

    3. Oh, and that link says nothing of PJ64 2.02, but the older betas. You have to be logged in to see the actual beta.

    4. Its so funny when douchebags post things like "Wrong!" or "Fail!" when it is them who is wrong,LOL

    6. Turns out you have to download the package, not individual files, so it works, but make sure you get the zip file. It's Windows 7, but it works.

  5. It's legit, Zilmar (one of the original coders) was the one that compiled it. I thought the project was, you know, dead.

  6. But it's also a trap, it doesn't work.

    1. please do ☺
and as for J_Merrit's pj64 1.7.5.0. upload i can confirm it is working thanks (yes i did check it for viruses with malware bytes and kaspersky)

    2. Glad it worked for you. I triple-checked the uploaded before I stuck it on filefactory. Scanned using many free online scanners, checked inside a Virtualbox VM WinXP SP3 that I setup purposely to check for viruses/malware, and checked and use frequently in Win7 Ultimate SP1.

    3. I, uh, might need to use a new identity and a VPN to upload it in complete anonymity.

    4. I wouldn't personally take the risk, Don't get exposed then lose your donation privileges.
One thing to ask you is, Is v2.0 a step UP from 1.7.50 ? Or a step DOWN from 1.7.50 ?
If it's a step down, then don't risk it, wait until it matures then see what happens then.

For me, 1.7.50. is working well enough to enjoy the N64 classics.

    5. Yeah, you're right, it's not worth losing the download privileges. As for being better on not, I haven't done extensive testing yet. What do you want me to test in particular?

  8. Whats the point in telling us about an update if the only way you can get it is by donating $20, forcing someone to pay money for the beta is not a donation, why dont they just say 'We have a new beta but to get it you must first pay us $20', i understand all the hard work that went into the emulator but making people pay for it then calling it a donation just takes the piss.

    1. I could guess it was to prove that the project is alive (albeit in a near-death state), but asking for a $20 is a bit preposterous. Enough of the c**ktease EmuCR. Don't post emulators that no one can download.

  9. Someone should make a video showing:

    -killer instinct gameplay

-Donkey Kong 64 Intro rap and gameplay

    -Bomberman 64 New game intro

-Bomberman 64 - 2nd Attack menu and gameplay

    -Kirby 64 gameplay

So I can see if certain things were fixed...

  10. If only someone shortly posted it on emucr like they did 1.7.0.50 ver 23,then maybe someone else could have got it,then posted it on mediafire or anywhere.

  11. Why not use mupen64?
I stopped using this one FOREVER ago

    1. Squall Leonhart which game did you tried and in which version of mupen 64 because i have all the emulators available and i use 1964 for reasons of speed/compatibility/Hires textures, Mupen 64 compatibility/Advance RSP Emulation, and project 64 i only have this one for the netplay but nothing else in fact there is something weird in project 64 since a long time, closed betas, pay to test the beta, emulation going backwards dont take in consideration the changelogs because the 1.7 and upwards work worse than 1.6 in fact if you want to use project 64 the best thing to do is download the unoficial RDB Japanese updated 31/07/2012 and the 64th to get a better sound is what i did.

I almost forgot the filtering doesnt work and you cant work with special plugin to load hires in the betas because they crash

  12. I agree because the 2.0 doesnt work and is not tested almost all the people that payed the emulator were gamers not beta tester because they need money for a beta tester or give him something special (like my beta testing on an emulator they gived me the .Hack Games Collection)and the developers od project 64 afirmed the fact that the 20 dollars are not donations that money is not for developing furthermore the emulator or the site or the server that money is for themselves (the 4 or 5 developers) but the problems is the plugins they are using are GPL the development of the RBD is from the comunity of emulation64 and the development of the emulator itsef the one that charge the money only compile the emulator and get the money.
Someone could leak this to test if they are really doing some advance with the in house plugins (the level of emulation gets better if you use the 1964 or mupen plugins) or the changelog is just fake as i noticed in my tests (i have tested the 1.7 and 2.0.5 with around 200games and the emulation is worse than version 1.6)

  14. Thank you for the link for 1.7.05! Oh my God! why haven't they released this version? Is it because "cough, cough" they want money for what used to be a free platform?

  15. If you set the graphics plugin to stretch while the game is playing you get a true full screen experience. without the auto centering ;)
