DOSBox-X Git (2026/08/06) is compiled. DOSBox-x is a branch of DOSBox. DOSBox emulates an Intel x86 PC, complete with sound, graphics, mouse, joystick, modem, etc., necessary for running many old MS-DOS games that simply cannot be run on modern PCs and operating systems, such as Microsoft Windows XP, Windows Vista, Linux and FreeBSD.

* Fix MCB corruption bug caused by CONFIG.COM on device load placing the stack pointer too close to the end of the allocated memory block. DOS_Execute() uses CALLBACK_SCF() which modifies ss:sp+4. Prior to this fix SS:SP was accidentally set up in a way that corrupted one bit in the MCB block following the one used to hold relocated CONFIG.COM
* Change CONFIG shell resident name to CFGSHELL because CONFIG is also the name of the CONFIG.COM utility. It causes confusion when debugging
* Avoid possible Corrupt MCB chain errors if debugging while loading a device driver, by temporarily setting the MCB chain to CONFIG itself
* Make sure IPX emulation is removed from OSFREE
* Allow OSFREE builds to use ETHNET command
