Snes9xrd v0.2 is released. This is snes9xrd, a personal fork of Snes9x 1.63 maintained by DeAtSoUl56. It tracks upstream master closely — there's no separate feature branch — but rebuilds the Qt front-end and fixes bugs found along the way. Everything else (the emulation core, and the GTK/win32/macOS/libretro front-ends) is stock Snes9x.
What's different from upstream:
Qt front-end overhaul: Display, Sound, Emulation and Controllers settings now have real parity with the legacy win32 dialogs (stretch/transparency/shader parameters, frame skipping, software filters, per-channel volume/mute, etc.).
Controller binding widget: the on-screen SNES controller image now highlights exactly the button that's bound and pressed — no more pre-lit buttons or mismatched highlights — with a background that matches the settings theme.
Binding fixes: axis/hat bindings are correctly disambiguated from each other and now survive a save/load round-trip; joystick button highlighting matches the same raw button index the bindings are captured from.
Simplified main window: the sidebar added early in the fork's life was removed in favor of just the top menu bar; the Help → About dialog was restored with the fork's own credits.
Snes9xrd Changelog:
Qt frontend
Super Scope support: new binding view in the Controllers panel (Fire, Pause, Auto Fire, Cursor, Aim Offscreen), fully configurable like the SNES controller and mouse views — only Fire defaults to Left Click.
Genuine Auto Fire: Super Scope's Auto Fire is a real frame-synced turbo implemented in the shared core (S9xControlEOF), the same mechanism as Joypad Turbo A/B, and follows the same turbo speed setting.
Mouse binding support: configurable Click L/R view in the Controllers panel; physical mouse clicks can now be captured/assigned like keyboard or joystick inputs instead of being hardwired.
Fixed the controller diagram shifting position/size when switching between the Controller, Mouse, and Super Scope binding views.
The binding "Set" combo now automatically jumps to the correct port slot when switching into Mouse or Super Scope port modes.
Added a per-row clear ("-") button in the Controllers panel, instead of only a global clear-all action.
MultiCart dialog: added a BIOS status row, Slot A/B paths are now remembered across sessions, and fixed OK not actually starting the game.
Fixed a BIOS folder resolution bug that could return an empty path.
General code quality pass (casts, signed/unsigned comparisons, dead code removal, shared connect-lambda helpers).
