WinUAE v6.1.0 Beta 11 is released. WinUAE is the commodore amiga emulator for Windows. WinUAE is a mostly complete software emulation of the hardware of the Commodore Amiga 500/1000/2000. A Commodore Amiga, for those who don’t know, is a 16/32 bit computer system based on the Motorola 680×0 CPU and a few specially designed custom chips that provide very good graphics and sound capabilities. Its first incarnation, the A1000, appeared in 1985, followed by the highly successful A500 and A2000 models. WinUAE is a port of the originally written for Unixish systems UAE; but over time, it seems the Windows port, WinUAE has become the best version available on any platform. WinUAE is free software: you are welcome to distribute copies of it and/or modify it, under certain conditions. There is no warranty of any kind for UAE. For more details concerning these issues, please read the GNU General Public License, which describes the terms under which WinUAE is distributed.
WinUAE Changelog:
- Added "Visible display" checkbox to RTG panel. Only shown when emulation is running and selected RTG board is active. If visible: unticking it will switch to native screen and if not visible, it will switch to RTG mode. Hopefully this is more discoverable and more intuitive way to manually switch displays than END+F9 key shortcut.
- Added Chipset/Next display/Previous display to systray menu.
- CyberVision/BlizzardVision PPC autoswitch support (Permedia 2 SVGA chip display blanking and DPMS register bits emulated)
- CSMK3/CSPPC/BPPC and CyberVision/BlizzardVision PPC and no PCI bridges configured: automatically add G-REX. (In real world G-REX is not needed but functionally CVPPC/BPPC slot is single slot G-REX)
- Merlin RTG board hardware mouse cursor horizontal offset fixed.
- Piccolo and PiccoloSD64 RTG board 8-bit colors fixed.
- PiccoloSD64 32-bit mode swapped color components fixed.
- CyberVision PPC/BlizzardVision PPC (Permedia 2) hardware line draw fix (p96cts test)
- uaegfx BlitPlanar2Direct plane mask was ignored when minterm was not inverting the source. (p96cts test)
- Refactored OSD led code.
- OSD CD led was only activated after first CD access, enable it immediately when starting config with one or more CD drives. (b10)
- OSD FPS shows now RTG refresh rate if RTG is active and chipset sync is disabled, matching windowed mode status bar FPS value.
- NE2000: drop packets that are too big.
- NE2000 and A2065: do not receive packets that have source mac == our emulated card. Host side may reflect all sent frames back which can confuse network stacks.
- Fixed random crashes when switching from (usually doublescanned hires) native WB mode to RTG mode without closing the native screen first (for example ScreenMode Prefs Test-button could trigger it but selecting new WB RTG mode resolution would not). Since v6.0. Resolution mid screen change didn't immediately recalculate all native rendering parameters causing possible drawing buffer overflow.
- If $b00000-$b7ffff was used for ROM image (last 512k slot of 2M ROM), it was not directly accessible, causing crash in non-more compatible CPU/JIT modes. (Broken when second 1M space was it was split to 2x512k regions long time ago)
- Fixed hunk executable ROM loader. It only worked if only first hunk had relocations. (Always been broken, it probably worked with some early hunk AROS ROMs)
- If executable (hunk or elf) is loaded as a ROM: ROM region is not write-protected. This allows custom ROMs with writable DATA or BSS chunks.
- Some chipset emulation optimizations.
Still same todo list:
- Fix remove interlace artifacts. (This is so boring to fix..)
- Fix display port adapters. (and this one too)
