WinVICE r46224 is released. WinVICE is a program that executes programs intended for the old 8-bit computers. The current version emulates the C64, the C128, the VIC20, all the PET models (except the SuperPET 9000, which is out of line anyway), the PLUS4 and the CBM-II (aka C610).
WinVICE Changelog:

PET: improve the HRE memory banking register $E888
Before it just recognized the 2 "magic" values that were written to it
by the ROM code.
Now it now looks at the actual bits you write to it, and sets /ram ON,
/ram sel 9 and /ram sel A accordingly.

r46221 | gpz | 2026-08-27 21:17:25 +0000 (Thu, 27 Aug 2026) | 1 line

PET: Added a PetSpeed dongle.
Note that the compiler doesn't like the advanced DOS version we have in
the 8x50 drives (the added drive number in the disk status messages
probably confuses it).
