Nextendo v1.8.5 is released. Nextendo is a fork of the open-source Ryujinx Nintendo Switch emulator. On top of Ryujinx's excellent accuracy and performance, Nextendo adds a first-class, built-in client for the Nextendo Network — a community-run replacement for the official online service — so supported games can be played online again without any manual configuration, custom hosts file, or SSL bypass on the user's part. The emulation core (CPU, GPU, audio, input, filesystem) is unchanged from upstream Ryujinx. Nextendo's additions are limited to the networking layer and the surrounding user experience.

Nextendo Changelog:
If you installed 1.8.4, please update. That build could not reach the Nextendo servers at all — no online, no NAT check, empty friend list — and its auto-updater could not install anything. It has been removed. This release fixes all of it. 1.8.3 was never affected.
Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled
CTR now plays online on Nextendo. Built-in patches for build 1C689518406930512C13DDF4217E7676 (game version 1.0.15) — another game update would not receive them and could not reach our servers.
Signed authentication. CTR embeds Demonware's RSA public key and checks the response signature in bdAuth::validateResponseSignature before it ever looks at the login ticket. An unsigned reply fails outright, no matter how correct the rest of it is. The patch replaces that key so our signed replies verify.
Friends past the first twenty. CTR sorts your friend list and only ever asks the server about the first 20 names, so a friend ranked below that was invisible to room lookup — in both directions, which is why two people could each fail to see the other's room. maxUserIdsPerQuery is lifted from 20 to 300.
Demonware routing. Activision titles never touch Nintendo's services: authentication over TLS, the lobby and NAT discovery on port 3074, and the shared stun. responders all live under demonware.net, which is now redirected alongside the Nintendo hostnames.
Nintendo 64 – Nintendo Classics, and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker
Both already had built-in patches in Citron but not here. Ported across byte-for-byte:
Nintendo 64 – Nintendo Classics 4.2.0 (unreleased still / just added patches).
METAL GEAR SOLID: Peace Walker – Master Collection
Its own account identity
Ryujinx now signs in as nextendo-ryujinx rather than sharing the generic nextendo-emulator client ID, and requests the full scope set. This lets the account portal tell the clients apart and give each one its own branding and permissions.
The BAAS id_token also now carries the installed game version, so version compatibility can be enforced server-side instead of relying only on the client's own table.
⚠️ Crash Team Racing needs game version 1.0.15. The patches are tied to that exact build ID; any other update will not receive them and will not connect.
