xemu Modern GUI v2.6 is released. This is an experimental fork of xemu for trying out user interface improvements. It is not official xemu, and it is not made, endorsed or supported by the xemu project. Some of these ideas may never appear in xemu.

xemu Modern GUI Changelog:
Xbox 360 games, through your own Xenia. xemu does not emulate the Xbox 360, and this fork still doesn't include or change any 360 emulator. If you download Xenia or Xenia Canary yourself, the library can now list your 360 games and start them in it.
Turn on Show Xbox 360 games on the new Xenia tab and choose your xenia.exe / xenia_canary.exe. Your game folders are scanned for disc images (.iso), extracted games with a default.xex, .xex files, Games on Demand and Xbox Live Arcade packages.
Games get a 360 badge, and the library has All / Xbox / Xbox 360 filter tabs.
Settings for each game: resolution scale, graphics API (Direct3D 12 or Vulkan), vsync, fullscreen and extra options, with quick presets (Xbox and 360 games) and a notes box. Defaults for every 360 game are on the Xenia tab. A link opens the game's page in the Xenia Canary compatibility list.
Play inside the xemu window (Windows, experimental, on by default): Xenia's picture is shown inside xemu's window. A strip across the top has an Exit Xenia button (click twice). Ctrl+Shift+Q, or holding Back + Start on a controller for a second, also leave. If a game misbehaves, turn Play 360 games inside the xemu window off on the Xenia tab and it opens in its own window.
While Xenia runs, the Xbox game is paused and the dashboard stays out of the way; play time is recorded, and the library comes back when you close Xenia.
Xbox and Xenia gear tabs. The dashboard's Settings tab is now Xbox, next to a new Xenia tab. The Xbox tab starts with a Graphics block (renderer: OpenGL or Vulkan, aspect ratio, vsync, fullscreen, shader cache, GPU boost and CPU boost) above the picture, audio and controller settings it had. The Xenia tab holds where Xenia is and how its games start.
Fixes
The library toolbar on the sphere-and-fins dashboard was cut off after Get covers; it now wraps onto a second row.
Ten dashboard sections now fit in every style: the top bar tightens up (and drops its tab numbers when crowded) and the Holo section grid has four columns.
Notes
Xenia's own picture and control settings stay in Xenia. The options on this fork's Xenia tab (resolution scale, graphics API, vsync, fullscreen) are passed to it when a game starts.
Xenia and its option names change between versions; if an option has no effect, use Extra options or Xenia's own config.
360 games and Xenia need your own game files and your own copy of Xenia. Nothing is included.
Downloads
Windows: xemu-windows-x86_64-.zip. Extract it and run xemu.exe. Needs 64-bit Windows and a CPU with AVX2.
Linux: xemu-linux-x86_64-.AppImage. Make it executable and run it. (Xbox 360 games in a Windows build of Xenia use Wine; the single-window mode is Windows only.)
Made with assistance from Claude Code (Anthropic).
