Ares Git (2025/10/06) is compiled. ares is a multi-system emulator that began development on October 14th, 2004. It is a descendent of higan and bsnes, and focuses on accuracy and preservation.
Oboromi v0.1.0 is released. oboromi is a modular and work-in-progress emulator for the Nintendo Switch 2. It's built in Rust and focuses on correctness, clarity, and traceability rather than performance at this stage. The current implementation includes a functioning CPU core, a memory management unit (MMU) with basic paging, and a custom memory subsystem. oboromi is not yet playable and does not emulate any commercial firmware or games.
DREAMM v4.0b18 is released. DREAMM(DOS Retro-Emulation Arena for Maniac Mansion) is a way to play your original DOS LucasArts adventure games with full fidelity to the original, without the hassle of setting up a general-purpose emulator. It was created by Aaron Giles.
pfeMame v3.1.5 is released. pfeMame is a front end for the Multiple Arcade Game Emulator (MAME) written in Python. It is cross platform (tested on Linux - Ubuntu and Windows XP). It also includes a graphical Tile View designed for MAME cabinets which allows control using joystick / gamepad. pfeMame was written by Gareth Finch and started in 2014.
GameEx v19.36 is released. GameEx is a graphical DirectX based front-end for MAME, Zinc, Daphne, PC Games, and all command line based game emulators, along with being a good Home Theatre PC solution. It also makes a good CarPC and touchscreen frontend. The original goal was for it to be used on Windows XP Media Center and Arcade Cabinets although it will run on any version of Windows 98, ME, 2000, XP and Vista. For just $17 (USD) you can too unlock the full potential of the front end.
Wine v10.16 is released. Wine is a project to allow a PC running a Unix-like operating system and the X Window System to run x86 programs for Microsoft Windows. Alternately, those wishing to port a Windows application to a Unix-like system can compile it against the Wine libraries.
Gearlynx v0.0.6 is released. Gearlynx is a cross-platform Atari Lynx emulator written in C++ that runs on Windows, macOS, Linux, BSD and RetroArch.
Test7800 v0.6.3 is released. Test7800 is an experimental emulator for the Atari 7800. It's not complete and is missing some important features but it plays many of the 7800 ROM files that are available. It supports a78 files and will emulate regular "flat" ROM files and also "supergame" ROM files. It does not yet emulate the POKEY chip and similar hardware. The 6502, TIA and RIOT emulation is taken from Gopher2600 and is therefore well tested. The implemenation of the MARIA is new to this project.
Playnite v10.41 is released. Open source video game library manager and launcher with support for 3rd party libraries like Steam, GOG, Origin, Battle.net and Uplay. Including game emulation support, providing one unified interface for your games.
Supermode Sinden v0.3a-6b0f050 is released. This is a fork of model3emu-code to add native Sinden light gun support. This fork uses ManyMouse to provide 2 player gun support in Linux and MacOSX. Two player mouse input in Windows is currently unchanged (supported in the official release) via the Windows Raw Input system. A Windows package is provided for Sinden border support.
DreamPotato v0.1.0 beta3 is released. DreamPotato is a Dreamcast VMU emulator in currently in alpha. For the moment only Windows builds are available. DreamPotato can connect to Flycast to support an experience similar to using a real Dreamcast and VMU together. Currently, trying this out requires building the Flycast vmuconn branch from source.
Xenia Git (2025/10/06) is compiled. Xenia is an experimental emulator for the Xbox 360. It does not run games (yet).
Supermodel Git 6b0f050 is released. Supermodel emulates Sega's Model 3 arcade platform, allowing you to relive state-of-the-art 3D arcade gaming as it existed from 1996 through 1999. It uses OpenGL, SDL2, and can run on Windows, Linux, and macOS. It also supports network play on low-latency network connections. The source code is freely available under the terms of the GNU General Public License.
PCSX2 v2.5.202 is released. PCSX2 is a free and open-source PlayStation 2 (PS2) emulator. Its purpose is to emulate the PS2's hardware, using a combination of MIPS CPU Interpreters, Recompilers and a Virtual Machine which manages hardware states and PS2 system memory. This allows you to play PS2 games on your PC, with many additional features and benefits.
